Stretch marks are a line on the skin which occur when the skin is stretched out or stretched in and looses elasticity. They normally appear on the skin of buttocks, hips, thighs, stomach and legs.

Vitamin C also has certain formulations that increase collagen production, but they’ll only help with early-stage stretch marks; for best results, combined with glycolic acid; taking 500 mg of Vitamin C supplements three times a day may also help in removing stretch marks.
Drink plenty of water which hydrates your body and keeps your skin soft and less likely to develop stretch marks. Caffeine can increase your possibility of stretch marks. If you’re having difficulties to get rid of your caffeinated coffee or tea, make sure you balance the fluids. Stretch marks can also result from nutritional insufficiency. Be sure to consume foods that encourage skin health: foods rich in zinc, such as nuts or fish; foods high in Vitamins A & C, such as carrots and citrus fruits and milk; protein-rich foods, such as eggs.
Laser surgery has shown to be useful in stretch marks removal, and they seem to work best on stretch marks that are still fairly new, red or purple in color. It is one of the effective methods in removing of stretch marks. Laser light device is treated with skin which passes through collagen with the second layer of the skin resulting in removing of stretch marks. Other surgical treatments like chemical peeling or lasers can guarantee stretch marks removal. They can be used only to a certain depth, which allows skin to be removed without causing scaring; results will vary depending on age and skin color. This treatment is not used on people with dark skin.
Lotion treatments for stretch marks which contain alpha hydroxy acid removes the skin cells which later results in healthier skin cells growth. These lotions work very steadily and must be often used, so if use is discontinued the results will be lost. Formulations with Vitamin A, C and E help in treating the stretch marks removal.
